Celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Border Security Force Meghalaya organised a friendly volleyball match with Border Guard Bangladesh near BSF outpost Baghmara, South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya to enhance the peaceful and friendly atmosphere between the two Border Guarding Forces and to create a friendly environment amongst the border population living on both sides of the international border.
Sh Ratikant Thakur, Commandant 43 Bn BSF welcomed the 20-member delegation from Border Guard Bangladesh led by Lt Col ASM Zakariya, Commanding Officer 31 BGB. The match was won by BGB by 3 – 1 which was witnessed and enjoyed by officials of both the forces, influential personalities and other populations of nearby villages.
Volleyball teams from both border guarding forces played with full spirit and enthusiasm. After the completion of the match mementos and trophies were presented to the team members.
