The FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 is to be held in Bhubaneswar – Rourkela (Odisha) from 13th January to 29th January 2023.
To promote the World Cup 2023 Hockey India is organising FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup Trophy Tour in India.
Today the Trophy was brought from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata by Swapan Banerjee – President and Istiyak Ali – Secretary General of Hockey Bengal.
The prestigious Trophy was displayed at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Public viewing.
The Following Dignitaries were present in the programme:
Aroop Biswas, Minister-In-Charge, Department of Youth Services & Sports, Govt. of West Bengal as Guest in Chief.
Ashok Kumar (Arjuna Awardee, Olympian & World Cup winner who scored the winning goal in the final of the 1975 world cup) as Guest of Honour.
Gurbux Singh (Olympian Gold Medalist) as Guest of Honour among others.
