Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, CM of Assam lauded the pivotal role played by NCC in channelizing the power of youth in constructive activities and instilling a sense of discipline in them. The CM expressed his views during the calling on by Maj Gen Gagan Deep, the new Additional DG of NCC in NE Region. The Hon’ble CM assured him of all assistance from the State Government. Maj Gen Gagan Deep thanked the CM for proactive steps taken in facilitating the role of NCC in NE Region. During the meeting the CM brought out the various schemes undertaken by the Assam government in facilitating the role of NCC in the state and assured him of unstinted support to NCC in its noble cause.
The General Officer was accompanied by Lieutenant Commander Debanand Doley, Commanding Officer of 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC, Guwahati to discuss the upcoming Naval Jetty at Saraighat Lake, Amingoan under aegis of hon’ble CM. The CM also conveyed his best wishes to members of Republic Day Parade contingent of NCC NER and promised to meet them at an opportune time.
