Samannay Social Welfare Youth Organisation Margherita committee on wednesday organised invited Day and night Prize money volleyball competition at Margherita polo field where total 12 teams from Tinsukia district participated in the competition.
The programme begins with felicitation of chief guest by the organising committee with an traditional Assamese phoolam gamosha where Siddhartha Sonowal EAC, Margherita sub divisional administration(civil), Veteran journalist of Margherita and advisor of Margherita Journalists Association Ram Prasad Ambedkar, Margherita Journalists Association General secretary Prashanta Chetia,Treasurer Mithun Baruah, Samannay Social Welfare Youth Organisation Tinsukia district Committee President Lakhi Kanta Borah, General Secretary Hirokjyoti Neog (Pranjal),Volleyball National player Homen Gogoi, event organisers Buddin Buragohain, Nabo Borah,Akash Kujur and many other sports lovers were present at the volleyball competition.
Hirokjyoti Neog in his inaugural speech said that sports is a part of daily life and every human being in this planet is associated with any form of sports.
Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika says that this world is a Sports Auditorium and everyone love sports by heart said Neog.
Siddhartha Sh Sonowal inaugurate the volleyball competition by cutting the ribbon in his speech said that youth must participate in every kind of sports if played perfectly in state,National and International level there is great opportunity and scope in sports.
Shankar Das and Prem Thapa both president and general secretary of Samannay Social Welfare Youth Organisation Margherita committee said that at Margherita Constituency we have first time organised this Volleyball competition and hope that in the coming days to organise this event as National level where in this competition winners will get Rs 10,000 and Trophy, runners up Rs 5000 and Trophy and best player will get cash amount of Rs 3000 and a Trophy.
