Hailakandi DC Inaugurated an Exhibition on Tribal Heroes of India at SS College

The deputy commissioner of Hailakandi Nisarg Hivare inaugurated an exhibition on tribal heroes of India at SS College, Hailakandi organised on the occasion of National Youth Day on January 12, 2023. It was jointly organised by Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, NSS Unit of SS College and Piramal Foundation.

DC Hivare paid floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and tribal heroes and lighted the lamp at the outset of day-long programme.

Later a seminar on Tribal Heroes in India’s Freedom Struggle was also held at the conference hall of the college. It was presided over by the principal incharge of the college Hilal Uddin Laskar.

 

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Hivare narrated the tribal history of the country particularly on Northeast. He said that the society is changing everyday and the tribal people those who are underprivileged should follow the happenings of the mainstream of the country and made them competent to compete with national level. He urged them to be positive in their work and study to get optimum results.

 

 

It was also addressed by the president of Kalyan Ashram, Hailakandi, Subrata Sarma Mazumdar, organising secretary of Kalyan Ashram, South Assam, Rajesh Das, president of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Hailakandi, Satananda Bhattacharjee, Secretary of BRU people Forum, Hailakandi, Prodip Reang, Yagneswar Deb and S Nath of NSS unit of the college, assistant professor of the department of history, PDU Government Model College, Katlicherra, Daimalu Brahma, District Programme Lead, Piramal Foundation, Mousumi Roy among others.
