On 15th January, 2023, acting on reliable information jawans of Border Out Post Sikra, 82 Battalion and Border Out Post Matiyari and Halderpara, 54 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier seized 516 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility.
In other incident, troops of Border Out Post Rajnagar, 117 Battalion seized a total of 133 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility. The estimated value of seized Phensedyl bottles in all the incidents is Rs.1,33,246/-.
The seized items have been handed over to Police Station Chapra, Banpur, Rani Nagar respectively for further legal action.
Spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over the vigilance of BSF jawans and stated that our jawans are fully determined and committed to stop cross Border crimes and smuggling.
