Mouchaq, a popular children’s magazine in Assam, has already turned 40 to congratulate the magazine, Mauchak Club, Margherita organized an exceptional poetry festival for the children named ‘Abhinandan Mouchaq” held at Margherita block development hall on Sunday.
At the outset, the members of the club gave a unique dimension to the event by performing a concert titled ‘Abhinandan Mouchaq” by Dr. Runjun Saikia HOD Assamese department of Margherita College and Tulika Gogoi Dahotia and they addressed the children on the topic ‘why should we must read books’?
At this auspicious function noted social worker of Margherita Ranju Barua Chetia, Margherita Mouchaq club founder Partha Jyoti Baruah, Dr Kasturi Nath of Margherita college, Archana Neog Chetia, Assistant Professor of Ledo College Nabol Kishore Buragohain, Margherita public higher secondary school teacher Lakhyadhar Sonowal, Manash Pratim Gogoi journalist of Margherita, Dr Kasturi Nath of Margherita tulumani Borgohain,Ranju Tamang Baruah and parents were present and gave inspirational speeches to the children.
The present children recited their own writings and poetry which enthralled the present people.
Dr. Shantanu Tamuli, popularly known as ‘Mouchaq Mama’, editor of Mouchaq magazine addressed the children and the public through phone-in.
Margherita Mouchaq club founder Partha Jyoti Baruah said that Mouchaq will continue to make children interested in reading magazines and books.
