Five days long collaborative interstate exposure visit cum training programme on Organic Farming of Important Crops for progressive farmers of Vaishali, Bihar from May 18-22, 2023 in collaboration/sponsored by ATMA-Supaul, Govt. of Bihar inaugurated today at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Sikkim Centre, Tadong, Gangtok.
The Organic Farming of Important Crops training will start with agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry along with awareness, farm visit and demonstration. Various technologies for efficient utilization of natural resources for enhancing productivity of crop as well as animals especially in hilly organic areas will be the main theme of this training.
Total 12 participants are taking part in this training. Inaugurating the training programme, Dr. Ramgopal Laha (Joint Director) emphasized upon the integrated organic farming system, organic vegetable production technology and importance of natural resource management in mountain ecosystem. Dr. Shaon Kumar Das, senior scientist (soil science) and training nodal officer in his introductory remarks highlighted the importance of this training programme and emphasized that organic sources of nutrient for soil health management is very essential for enhancing the productivity of the existing organic production system. Mr. Sahoo, Deputy Project Director (ATMA-Vaishali) also emphasized on importance of organic farming in current scenario.
