The month long unrest in Manipur has had a crippling effect on Medical resources and infra of the Govt. This has led to many sections of the population being without essential medical care and also emergency treatment with some being very critical.
Assam Rifles is responding to the medical requirement of the people of Manipur and has mobilized all its medical resources since 01 Jun 2023.
An expert team of Doctors, Specialists and Nursing Assistants stocked with medicines and other equipment have been mobilized by all possible means to ensure essential and reaches on time and given space. To this effect doctors and medicines have been moved by road and helicopter to the remotest parts of Manipur to give essential treatment.
Since 01 Jun 2023 a total of 7236 individual including 1801 male, 3604 female and 1835 children have been provided medical treatment both major and minor.
The massive to effort of medical support has been possible only due to tireless efforts of the man and women of the Assam Rifles medical fraternity bricked by prophylactic security of its soldiers. The Medical Camp and Clinics have been conducted at Kangpokpi, Saikul, Moreh, Dolaithabhi, Pukhao Terapur, Tamenglong, Kadamtala, Sehlon, Noney, Churachandpur, Joupi, Chassad, Shangshak, Somsai, Tengnoupal, Khuga, Phundrei, Sajik Tampak and Keithelmanbi. Similar efforts have been planned to other places.
Assam Rifles will continue to stand and live up to its motto as the Friends of the North East. All are requested to take benefit of the efforts of Assam Rifles.
