Deputy Commissioner, Bomdila, Akriti Sagar (IAS), inspected various departments and ongoing schemes under the Shergaon jurisdiction on Tuesday.
She visited an Anganwadi center and interacted with the students and staff to ensure that beneficiaries were receiving all the benefits, including a quality meal (Kichdi) provided in the centers. To personally verify the quality, she even ate the food from the kitchen.
During the inauguration of Poshan Vatika in Shergaon, she actively participated in the kitchen garden by planting vegetables such as carrots and cabbages. Shergaon, blessed with favorable natural conditions for gardening and cultivation, urged the public, PRI members, and village elders to utilize available empty spaces within Shergaon for gardening, cultivation, and plantation purposes.
A plantation drive was also organized in the compound of the Anganwadi center and Officer’s Mess of the 73rd Battalion of SSB, Shergaon. Smti Akriti Sagar urged the SSB to provide necessary infrastructure development support for Shergaon under the Community Welfare Scheme.
At the Trout Hatchery Centre in Shergaon, Sagar closely observed the entire breeding and cultivation process of Trout Fish, from egg to adulthood. She praised the District Fisheries Development Officer (DFDO), M Adak, and his team for their dedication and commitment towards Trout Farming, and for encouraging the public to take up cultivation. During the visit, she also met successful Trout Fish farmers who were earning between 80,000 to 100,000 per month.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the construction of infrastructure under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna. She instructed the nodal department and contractor to complete the construction within the specified timeframe.
Furthermore, Akriti Sagar visited the Apple Orchard, Government Primary School, and Community Library, where she interacted with the officials present.
During the inspection, ZPM Shergaon Smti Tsering Wangmu Lama, members of Shergaon Village Council, PRI leaders, DD, ICDS R T Deru, DHO P N Khirmey, DLIO Lobom Tamin, DAO Ledo Thungon, CO Shergaon Anjali Siga, DFDO Magdai Adak, CDPO Khanlong Zongluju, and other officials were present.
