ICC World Cup Trophy unveiled in a glittering affair

History was written at the Eden Gardens as the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup Trophy was unveiled here today by CAB President Snehasish Ganguly and Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Aroop Biswas.

The 13th edition of this meet is being hosted by India alone and Eden Gardens has the honour of hosting as many as 5 matches including a semi-final.

Speaking on the occasion, Aroop Biswas read out a congratulatory message from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee where she lauded CAB for the dedication and excellent work and wished the CAB President all the best for hosting the matches.

Speaking on the occasion CAB President Snehasish Ganguly thanked everyone for extending their hand of co-operation and urged the people to come out in numbers and support India.

Trophy propelling up a secret box, fireworks and a nostalgia replete recap of the various WC finals made for a memorable evening, that saw icons like Leander Paes, Jhulan Goswami, Ashok Dinda, Dibbendu Barua, Dola and Rahul Banerjee, Santi Mallick, Arun Lal, Enrico Piperno among others.

General Office Commanding, Bengal Sub Area Major General H.Dharmarajan and few Officers of Indian Army attended this colourful event.
