Trishakti Corps of Indian Army continues to provide vital assistance to approximately 1700 stranded tourists and locals in the remote regions of Lachen, Lachung, Thangu, and Chungthang in North Sikkim.
In a window of opportunity available between adverse weather, more than 200 stranded tourists were safely evacuated from Lachen and Lachung valley in North Sikkim on 09 October. The mission is underway and more tourists will be evacuated shortly. Meanwhile rations and medical supplies are being supplied by air for stranded tourists.
