Workshop on Menace of Solid Waste: Segregation and Analysis Techniques by Voice of Environment (VoE)

Voice of Environment (A Scientific and Environmental Research Organisation) has conducted a workshop on Solid waste management. The program’s theme was “Menace of Solid Waste: Segregation and Analysis Techniques.” The session was a day-long online workshop program. The whole event was through online mode. The workshop is part of VoE’s ongoing environmental education and awareness mission initiative among the students, youths, and community.

The workshop session began with an opening by Dr Anu Sharma. The presentation was made by Dr. Anu (Riparian Ecology and Himalayan Studies Division, VoE). Deliberations were mainly comprised of the elaboration part. A detailed discussion was made on the concept and significance of waste management techniques like segregation, recycling, and composting, followed by an interaction and discussion session. Participants from different states and streams gave their comments after the session. The participants nationwide included Madhusmia Khatua from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, a working professional with ISOHE, Panaji, Goa. Akash Mitra is a student at NIT Patna. Sumana Balo, a research scholar from Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, West Bangle, Sudesh Kumar from Govt MAM College Jammu Pradip Kumar Pattajoshi, working as AGM Environment in NALCO Koraput, Odisha Amithi Singh, PSPS Govt Women College Gandhi Nagar Jammu (UT) Dr. Hari Prasad Agarwal Dean, Royal School of Architecture, RGU, Guwahati, Assam Anwesha Saha, a student from Sri Krishna Mission School student, Agartala, Tripura and Pallabi Roy Chowdhury from Kalyani University were the participants for this workshop.
