Assam Rifles established a Vocational Training Centre at Farkawn Village, Champhai District, Mizoram and distributed 15 Sewing Machines to the local womens.
The centre was inaugurated by DIG Mizoram Range Assam Rifles and he expressed hope that it will generate opportunity for self employment after training to women under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna is imparted. The aim is to impart training to the local women on stitching, handloom weaving & embroidery and make the women self sufficient by generating a stable source of income.
The inauguration of the event was also graced by members of the Village Committee, Young Mizo Association (YMA), Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP) and locals who expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for establishing the Vocational Training Centre and for imparting training to the local women. They also applauded the efforts being taken by Assam Rifles in promoting skill development and for empowering women.
