Indian Army organised a ceremony to unveil the Trophies of 19th Edition of Captain Jintu Gogoi, VrC Memorial Footbal Tournament at Duliajan, IOCL Digboi and Assam Govt at the Central Library Auditorium, Dibrugarh Assam on 21st November 2023.
Bimal Bora, Minister of Industries & Commerce, Government of Assam, Major General Sumit Kabthiyal, General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division and Brigadier KS Gill, SM Commander Laipuli Brigade jointly attended the Unveiling during the ceremony.
The Trophies for the winners, runners up and the Rolling Trophy were unveiled. The event was attended by over 500 guests comprising of sponsors, media houses, influencers and local vloggers from Assam, students & sports persons of eminence and selected guests from Tinsukia and Dibrugarh Districts.
Three eminent sportspersons who had represented the India and state in football were also felicitated. During the event the Tournament Theme Song of the Tournament “Lehra Do” was also released.
A Trophy tour was flagged-off at the end wherein the trophies will tour 5 districts of Upper Assam spreading awareness about the event.
The tournament will witness participation of 24 teams from eight states and is scheduled to be conducted from 8 December to 14 December 2023 at four venues namely Duliajan, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Digboi. The Inaugural Ceremony is scheduled to be held at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan on 08 December 2023.
