The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the world’s largest uniformed youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces. Established in 1948, the NCC plays a pivotal role in molding the future of the youth by instilling values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism. With over 17 lakh cadets and counting, the NCC continues to shape the youth towards nationbuilding.
The highlight of the celebration will be a grand NCC Day Cultural event at Fort William.
The NCC Day is a significant occasion to honor and celebrate the commitment and dedication of the NCC cadets across the country. The event is being celebrated PAN India across 17 Directorates of which our Directorate looks after the two states of West Bengal and Sikkim with a cadet strength of over 1 lakh cadets which is set to add another 60,000 cadets over the next decade.
With a series of events planned, the celebrations began today with an extraordinary display of skill, motivation, zeal, and enthusiasm from the Naval Wing cadets of the West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate in presence of proud parents which you all witnessed just now.
Simultaneously, numerous other activities to include Blood Donation Camp and Swachhata Campaigns will take place at various locations, emphasizing the resolve to continue the noble task of nation-building and shaping the future of the youth in our society. Today, in a heartfelt tribute to our fallen heroes, NCC cadets paid their respects and gratitude at the Shaheed Minar, Kolkata.
This day aims to remind ourselves of the importance of our mission and reiterate our commitment to shaping the youth to build a stronger nation. Through a series of events and activities, the NCC will showcase the values it instills and the achievements of its cadets.
