Assam Rifles in a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force, Indian Reserve Battalion and Churachandpur Police recovered weapons and war like stores at the outskirts of D Haolenjang village, Churachandpur district (Manipur) on 5th December 2023.
Based on input received from own sources with respect to likely presence of weapons cache and war like stores in general area D Haolenjang village, Assam Rifles launched a joint cordon and search operation with Border Security Force, Indian Reserve Battalion and Churachandpur Police in general area D Haolenjang village on 05 December 2023. The detailed joint search of the general area was carried out which led to the recovery of following weapons cache and war like stores:-
(a) 03x Local made Single Barrel Gun.
(b) 01x Local made Pistol.
(c) 02x 9mm Ammunition.
(d) 02x Country made improvised long range heavy Mortar (6 ft).
(e) 01x Tear Gas Gun
(f) 01x Tear Smoke Shell.
(g) 02x Tear Smoke Shell
(h) Fake currency amounting to Rs 1200
The recovered weapons and war like stores have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation.
