Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) assisted in destruction of illicit poppy cultivation spanning approx 15 Hectares in Ukhrul district on 6th & 7th December 2023.
As part of the “War on Drugs” campaign, the joint operation was executed in Ukhrul district by Assam Rilfes, Police and Forest department in general areas of Huishu village.
This destruction is part of the campaign wherein the survey was initially conducted initially by the joint team earlier this month. The campaign sends a strong message to the people who are explicitly involved in cultivation of illegal poppy in the region.
