In Continuation with its efforts to develop trust & cooperation among local populace of General Area Nambol and to maintain good relationship with the Civil Society Organisations with the ultimate goal of bringing peace and harmony in Manipur, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised an interaction with Meira Paibis and locals of Leimaram, Nambol and Maibam Chingmang villages in Bishnupur district, Manipur on 07 Dec 2023. of 20 people from these villages interacted with an aim to develop trust between locals and security forces and appreciated the sustained efforts of Assam Rifles on all fronts towards ensuring peace and tranquility and assisting local populace in myriad ways.
On 8th December under Civic Action programme, Assam Rifles distributed sports items to people of L Janglenphai village of Kangpokpi District, Manipur. Sports equipments including football, cricket kit, volleyball and other equipments were distributed to locals to encourage the sports culture amongst the youth and shift the focus of youth from the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
The Civil Society organisations and locals of L Janglenphai village appreciated the initiative and willingness to promote the sports and games by Assam Rifles and agreed to work in harmony with the security forces.
