Metro Railway has carried 2,98,116 passengers till 6 PM on 25th December Christmas.This count is 17,753 more than last year’s Christnas count ( 2,80,363) up to 6 PM.
Kolkata Metro has made elaborate arrangements for passengers in order to make their journey comfortable on Christmas. For their benefits, last Metro service will leave from Dakshineswar for Kavi Subhash at 22.58 hrs. instead of 21.28 hrs.
Today, maximum passenger count has been registered at DumDum, i.e. 34,004 up to 18.00 hrs. Park Street Metro station’s count was 14,646 till 18.00 hrs. This count has been 4,892 more than last year’s Christmas count ( 9,754) registered at this station up to 18.00 hrs.Esplanade has registered 22,796 passenger count which has been 5,265 more than last year’s count (17,531).
Maidan has recorded 14,701 passenger count till 18.00 hrs today. This has been 6,465 more than last year’s count of 8,236.
Metro Railway has opened additional counters at different stations and taken adequate security measures and provided additional tokens and Smart Cards at ticket counters in order to manage the expected rush today.
