Assam Rifles in association with Serchipp District Football Association has organised “Mizoram Open Football Championship” at Serchipp District Sports Complex.The aim is to foster sports as a career choice and augment the existing potential of Sports, especially Football in the State.
The event is being organised from 16 January 2024 to 20 January 2024.
The opening ceremony of the event took place today, with a enthusiastic kick off of budding players of Mizoram .
The event witnessed active participation of local population, representatives of Media and players, making it a momentous event of the year.
Over 170 Players from all across Mizoram representing different clubs from four districts of Mizoram viz Champhai, Aizawl, Serchhip & Lawngtlai have registered themselves for the said tournament. They are also exceptionally capitalising this opportunity to showcase their talent, skills and prove themselves as the Champions of Mizoram by bagging the Momentous Trophy along with a huge incentive award of Rs 1,50,000-/ as the winner and Rs 1,00,000-/ as runner up.
It is a noteworthy fact that the best players shall also be selected for participation in “Assam Rifles Sentinels Tournament” organised by HQ DGAR every year at Shillong and even budding talents may be recruited in prime clubs of India, as team of selectors from Prime Clubs of Kolkata is also registering their presence in the event.
The event shall culminate at Serchhip Football Stadium on 20 January 2024 with distribution of attractive prizes along with medals and certificates of participation.
