BSF, SOUTH BENGAL FRONTIER ORGANIZED CIVIC ACTION PROGRAM FOR COMMUNITY WELFARE AT BORDERING VILLAGES

January 18, 2024, In a heartening display of community engagement, the Troops of Border Outpost Khanjipur, 84 Battalion, BSF under the South Bengal Frontier organized a Civic Action Program at the Gram Panchayat Chitka of Dist Nadia(West Bengal). In addition to this, a Badminton competition was arranged to encourage the youth and promote sports awareness.

Panchayat Members from the bordering villages of Khanjipur, Nandanpur, and Goraimar, along with teachers and students from government schools in Khanjipur and Nandanpur, converged at the program, totaling 110 attendees. The initiative aimed to strengthen bonds between the BSF and the residents of the bordering villages.

A highlight of the event was the distribution of sports and miscellaneous items, valued at Rs. 2,04,760, to schools, clubs, and needy villagers.

The Badminton Tournament, a spirited component of the program, culminated in the final match, with the team from Goraimari village emerging victorious. Trophies and medals were awarded to the winning teams, amplifying the spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.

Adding a cultural touch to the proceedings, students from the bordering villages showcased their talents, presenting a vibrant cultural program that resonated with the diverse heritage of the region.

The efforts put forth by the BSF were acknowledged and Uppradhan of Gram Panchayat Chitka expressed gratitude for the program, emphasizing its role in fostering enduring relationships between the BSF and the local inhabitants.

A.K. Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier, BSF stated that this unprecedented initiative has left a positive impact on both the border population and the BSF, working as a constructive measure for building trust and confidence. He emphasized that such programs not only fulfill essential needs but also strengthen the sense of camaraderie and goodwill between security forces and local communities.
