Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S), organised a wreath laying ceremony on 19 February 2024 at Sikh Mor Memorial, near Litan, Ukhrul District, Manipur to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by gallant soldiers of 21st Bn The Sikh Regiment on 19 February 1982 when they were ambushed by insurgents near Litan, Ukhrul District, Manipur.
On this solemn day, homage was paid to the valiant actions of these brave 19 soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation, upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army. As we commemorate the 42nd anniversary of this sacrifice, let us collectively reflect honors and imbibe the valour and resilience of our armed forces.
ASSAM RIFLES PROVISIONS FOOTBALL GROUND TO SCHOOL IN MANIPUR UNDER OP SADBHAVNA
Ngari, a remote village nestled in Senapati District, Manipur, faces challenges with its schools lacking essential amenities and basic necessities. Recognizing the importance of sports in fostering the holistic development of students, there arose a pressing need for a football ground within the school premises.
Upon the school Principal’s appeal for assistance, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S), promptly responded to the request and handed over a Football Ground to Kishio English School in Ngari Nishang Village, Senapati District, Manipur on 20 February 2024 as part of Operation Sadbhavana.
During the inaugural function, attended by school and village authorities, the initiative by Assam Rifles was lauded for its positive impact on morale. Additionally, there were requests for similar projects to be undertaken in Senapati District, benefiting the wider public.
ASSAM RIFLES NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR TEAM VISITS INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY AT DEHRADUN UNDER OP SADBHAVNA
The Assam Rifles National Integration Tour Team visited the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on 19th February 2024 under OP SADHBHAVNA.
The team’s visit to the Indian Military Academy commenced with an insightful camp tour, where they gained firsthand exposure to the rigorous training and state-of-the-art facilities that define life at the academy. This experience offered the team valuable insights into the dedication and discipline required to excel in military service.
A highlight of the visit was the tour of Chetwode Hall, a revered symbol of tradition and excellence at the Indian Military Academy. Steeped in history, the hall served as a source of inspiration for the team, underscoring the rich legacy of velour and leadership that permeates the academy’s ethos.
The day’s activities concluded with a screening of a motivational movie, curated to instill a sense of patriotism and camaraderie among the team members. The film served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women of the Indian Armed Forces, further fueling the team’s determination to contribute to the nation’s defense forces.
The students also interacted with Lieutenant General. Sandeep Jain, Sena Medal, Commandant IMA, whose profound insights and motivational guidance left an indelible impact on the team members. Lt Gen. Jain’s impassioned address inspired the team to consider a career in the Indian Army, emphasizing the values of integrity, courage, and service to the nation.

ASSAM RIFLES ESTABLISHED RO WATER PLANT IN CHANGPOL VILLAGE OF CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR UNDER ASSAM RIFLES OP SADHBHAWANA PROGRAM
Changpol village, situated along the Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel district, was grappling with a severe shortage of potable drinking water. To address this pressing issue, an RO Water Plant was established in Changpol village, representing a significant yet essential step towards providing a vital amenity for the livelihood of its residents. This initiative aimed to alleviate the daily struggle of villagers to access safe and clean drinking water, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) established this RO Water Plant under Assam Rifles OP SADHBHAVNA Program for the year 2023-24 on 19 February 2024. By addressing the critical need for potable water, the Security Forces sought to strengthen its relationship with the local population, reinforcing trust and cooperation even during challenging times.
The villagers and village authorities expressed heartfelt gratitude for this initiative, recognizing its impact on enhancing the socio-economic fabric of the village contributing to sustainable development in the region.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES ‘MOCK TEST OF ASPIRANTS’ FOR UPCOMING SSC-GD EXAM AT CHURACHANDPUR, DISTRICT
In continuation to its efforts to uplift the society as a whole and understanding the hardship in preparation for competitive exams post suspension of internet in area, Assam Rifles organised A Mock Test of aspirants for upcoming SSC-GD written exam on 19 February 2024 at Assam Rifles Camp, Kangvai District, Churachandpur (Manipur).
The Security Force has been conducting free coaching classes for SSC GD aspirants since 04 Dec 2023 and the Mock test was aimed to introduce exam format, teach time management, boost confidence and also identify strengths and weaknesses of the aspirants.
