ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP AT RELEIF CAMP MANIPUR COLLEGE, SINGJAMEI
A Medical Camp was set up with an aim to bring awareness amongst the internally displaced people from various parts of Manipur and to address their immediate medical needs at Relief Camp Manipur College, Singjamei, Imphal West, Manipur on 06 Mar 2024. The camp was enriched by a detailed talk on awareness and precautions for seasonal diseases and importance of personal hygiene and sanitation.
67 individuals of this Relief Camp were examined by medical team for various ailments. Complimentary medicines and sanitation kits were also provided to all during the camp. The event culminated with invigorating interaction over tea and refreshments.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH LAYING CEREMONY OF BRAVEHEART
Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) organized a wreath laying ceremony in the honour of Rifleman Khim Bahadur Thapa who made the ultimate sacrifice displaying unwavering courage and dedication to duty despite facing overwhelming odds in intense Counter Insurgency Operation in Aizawal, Mizoram on 05 March 1966.
Persistent attack by the MNF insurgents on the Bn HQ of 1 Assam Rifles for several days resulted in this casualty. Rfn Khim Bahadur Thapa fell in line of duty towards the nation, displaying valour and courage on 05 March 1966.
The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying by Commandant of the Unit and a motivational speech to all ranks narrating the story of the braveheart to infuse a sense of pride and honour in the force.
A total strength of 03 Officers, 10 Junior Commissioned Officers and 89 Other Ranks of the Battalion paid tribute by laying wreaths & honoring the brave heart by rendering a Guard of Honour.
ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES WUSHU TRAINING KITS TO CHILDREN OF BISHNUPUR DISTRICT UNDER OPERATION SADBHAVNA : FIT INDIA MOVEMENT
To promote Fit India Movement and recognising the young, talented, budding sportsmen and women amongst the youth of Bishnupur district, Manipur especially amongst the turmoil prevailing in the State aim to show a ray of hope, Wushu training kits were distributed to children from humble backgrounds in Bishnupur district on 05 Mar 2024.
The distribution programme was conceptualized as part of Operation Sadbhavna for the Financial Year 2023-24 with the sole focus to encourage talented children from humble backgrounds to pick up Wushu, which has brought laurels to the state of Manipur in the recent past. The distribution of Wushu training kits will also ensure safety while playing the sport and substantially reduce the number of injuries in this contact sport.
Approx 150 children from in and around Bishnupur district would directly benefit from this initiative. The crucial step highlights the commitment of the Assam Rifles towards providing best possible facilities and guidance with the “Fit India” vision of our country in mind thus enabling budding talent to flourish and pursue their dream career.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED A MEDICAL AID CAMP AT VILLAGE HIANGTAM KHUNOU, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR
In furtherance of our relentless efforts to foster a healthier community and cater to the fundamental medical needs of individuals residing in remote regions, particularly facing challenges in accessing healthcare services, a Medical Aid Camp was organized at Village Hiangtam Khunou, Churachandpur District, Manipur, on March 5, 2024.
The primary objective of the medical camp was to provide comprehensive medical check-ups and distribute essential medicines to the local populace, thereby promoting their overall well-being. The initiative garnered enthusiastic participation from individuals across all age groups, resulting in approximately 24 villagers benefiting from medical examinations and medication distribution.
Additionally, interactive sessions were conducted to educate participants on the importance of timely medical intervention, hygiene practices, disease prevention, and addressing any queries they had regarding healthcare.
ASSAM RIFLES PROVISIONS COMMUNITY HALL IN MANIPUR: ARCAP
Based on the need for a Community Hall to host public gatherings and community activities, a requirement was highlighted by the locals to the Central Security Force. The community hall at Choithar, Ukhrul was promptly proposed, followed through and constructed as part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Program on 06 March 2024.
The inauguration of the community hall was carried out by Mrs Sochanpi, Vice President, Tangkhul Shanao Long (Women’s Association). The event was also attended by Mr Themaso Tallanao, President, Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (Youth Association) in the presence of Choithar village authority.
The locals conveyed their gratitude and appreciation to the Assam Rifles for undertaking the upliftment initiative for the society and urged to materialize similar projects benefiting the public in Ukhrul District.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH
A friendly volleyball match was organised at Chongjang Village, Tengnoupal District, Moreh on 06 March 2024. A total of 12 youths participated in the match which was witnessed by the villagers.
The match terminated with distribution of prizes to the winning team followed by an animated interaction session over tea by refreshments.
