The ongoing conflict in Manipur has left many young individuals stranded in their aspirations to join the Indian Armed Forces, hoping for a brighter future and the opportunity to be part of an esteemed institution. In line with its commitment as the “Friends of North East People,” Assam Rifles is actively engaging and supporting local youth from conflict-affected remote villages in Manipur, assisting them in pursuing their dreams and contributing to nation-building.
Through diligent and dedicated efforts, Assam Rifles organized a pre-medical examination on 29 April 2024, at the Assam Rifles Camp in Veng Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur, for candidates who successfully passed the Agniveer SSC (GD) Prelim Online Exam-2024.
The medical examination aimed to assess the physical condition of the candidates and prepare them for the forthcoming physical and medical tests in the recruitment process. It encompassed 14 tests, including physical examinations, dental checkups, and eyesight assessments. Prior to the examination, Assam Rifles had conducted a four-week training program in December for these aspirants from remote villages and internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Churachandpur District to prepare them for the online exam. Additionally, Assam Rifles is conducting a four-week physical training program for the selected candidates starting from the first week of May 2024.
ASSAM RIFLES PROMOTES COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH TWO SUCCESSFUL EVENTS
Assam Rifles, committed to fostering strong ties with local communities and inspiring youth to join the Armed Forces, recently organized two impactful events in Manipur. “A Day with Company Commander” event was conducted at Company Operating Base Nampisha, District Kamjong and also at Sangaikot Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur.
At Company Operating Base Nampisha, 28 local villagers and students from the village participated in the event aimed to familiarize participants with the organizational structure and operations of Assam Rifles. The students enjoyed an engaging tour of the Company Operating Base, followed by interactive games, activities, and lunch.
At Sangaikot village, Assam Rifles organized a recreational program for local school children in Sangaikot Village. The event, held on April 30, 2024, aimed to provide children with a unique insight into the functioning of the Company Operating Base and ignite their passion for joining the Indian Armed Forces. The program included visits to motivational halls, filming of motivational videos, recreational sports activities, and a tour of the company area. The event was well-received and thoroughly enjoyed by the young participants, further strengthening the bond between Assam Rifles and the local community.
These initiatives underscore Assam Rifles’ commitment to nurturing and guiding the youth, despite the challenges of unrest and tension in the state. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage in educational and recreational activities, strengthening their resolve to become exemplary citizens of the nation.
