CONTRIBUTION OF ASSAM RIFLES IN NATION BUILDING

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MOTIVATIONAL LECTURE ON “IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND SPORTS 

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted a motivational lecture on “Importance of Education and Sports” at St Vincent School, Zoldam Village (near Indo-Myanmar Border) ,Chandel District on 10 May 2024.

Keeping with the undeterred effort of Assam Rifles to reach out to the youth of the region, the lecture was conducted to educate the students of school located in Indo Myanmar border.

An impressive turnout of 300 students, teachers and parents attended, wherein the importance of good education and regular physical activities through games and sports was assimilated.

The Village Authorities, School Staff as well as the students & their parents appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for conducting such an informative and motivating lecture for the students.

ASSAM RIFLES CARRIES OUT ROAD REPAIR AT EASTERN INDO-MYANMAR BORDER, CHANDEL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) carried out repair of civil road, between Phaisangjang and Khumkot villages, on request of the villagers who had expressed concerns over to the poor road condition due to torrential rains and associated mud slidings. The villagers of Khumkot requested AR to help in road clearance to ease out vehicular movements in the said axis.

With the road becoming non-trackable, the repair of road along with clearing up of the mud slides was carried out 10 May 2024 onwards to avert vehicular accidents and loss or injury to the civilians conveying via the road.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER AT TENGNOUPAL, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (South) conducted A Day with Company Commander at Company Operating Base at Tengnoupal, Manipur.

A whopping 260 students from IDP camps from various schools of Tengnoupal participated in the event. During the event, various activities like conduct of motivational lecture, Sack Race, Dodge Ball, Musical chair, volleyball match and other activities were organised. Finally, the event concluded with prize distribution for the winners followed by refreshments for all to foster the relationship between Assam Rifles and the budding youth of the village.

The Assam Rifles aims at guiding the precious children of the society towards nation building and self improvement. The delighted students, thoroughly immersed in the experience requested for more such recreational activities in the future and went back with a song in their hearts and spring in their walk.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED MERI LIFE CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN SHANGSHAK VILLAGE, UKHRUL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles, on 11 May 2024 organised Meri Life Cleanliness Drive at Shangshak village in Ukhrul district of Manipur.

As part of the environment friendly intiatives of Assam Rifles, a cleanliness drive was organised jointly by the villagers of Shangshak village and Assam Rifles personnel. A total of 35 civilians from Shangshak village including the village authorities had joined hands with the Assam Rifles personnel at Shangshak to carry out cleaning activities in the public areas of the village. After completion of the cleanliness drive, the participants were distributed with refreshments.

The civilians and the village authorities expressed their appreciation towards Assam Rifles for orgainsing such a useful activity for them.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES “A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER” AT COMPANY OPERATING BASE, CHANDRAKHONG, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) hosted a fun-filled and engaging event at the Company Operating Base (COB) Chandrakhong in Manipur. Titled “A Day with Company Commander,” the event brought together around 85 students from Chandrakhong-Phanjakhong High School, ranging from 3rd to 10th grade. The day was dedicated to fostering a spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and raising awareness about the Indian Army.

Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of games, such as jalebi race, spoon and marble, sack race, and blind shot, showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.

The event concluded with the distribution of gifts and prizes to the students, in recognition of their enthusiastic participation.

The Assam Rifles, known as the “Sentinels of the North East, “remains dedicated to engaging with local communities in the region, particularly the youth, through various initiatives that promote community bonding, encourage sports, and offer guidance on potential career paths within the armed forces.

ASSAM RIFLES AND MANIPUR POLICE RESCUE FOUR ABDUCTED VICTIMS IN MANIPUR

On 10 May 24, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Manipur Police Commandos, Thoubal rescued four kidnapped victims in Charangpat.

Credible intelligence was received regarding abduction of four individuals from Nambol, Bishnupur District. In a collaborative effort, Assam Rifles and Yaripok Police established a surveillance point to intercept the abductors. The joint team swiftly reached the location and intercepted the suspected vehicles. On interception, the kidnappers panicked and abandoned the individuals and fled from the location.

All four kidnapped victims were safely rescued and handed over to the police.
