ASSAM RIFLES SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZES MASS YOGA SESSIONS AND YOG SHIVIR IN CHANDEL AND CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICTS

The Assam Rifles successfully organized mass yoga sessions in the villages of Aibol Joupi, Kovang, Old Samtal and company operating base in Chandel district, as well as a Yog Shivir at Tuilumjang Village & at KSO Community School Sangaikot in Churachandpur district. These events aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and its relevance in daily life, fostering physical and mental well-being among the participants.

At Company Operating Base, Chandel, a week long Training for Trainers in Yoga culminated on 13 Jun 2024 in the run up to 15th International Yoga Day. The event witnessed participation of 20 Assam Rifles personnel encompassing lectures on benefits of Yoga, introduction to basic asanas, incorporation of yogic practices in daily routine for enhancement of physical, mental and spiritual acumen. The event culminated with mass Yoga display which motivated and inspired all ranks to org Yoga events for people of North East for healthy lifestyle.

At Aibol Joupi, Kovang, Old Samtal in Chandel district, the sessions were held on 12 June 2024 and saw enthusiastic participation from 153 villagers. Certified instructors educated the villagers on various yoga techniques, historical aspects of yoga, and its importance in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The sessions included detailed guidance on proper alignment and technique, empowering the villagers to lead healthier and more balanced lives.

Simultaneously, the Yog Shivir at KSO Community School Sangaikot in Churachandpur district focused on promoting yoga among students and the community. The event highlighted the holistic benefits of yoga, including improved flexibility, strength, cardiovascular health, and reduced stress and anxiety. The 50 students received guidance from Assam Rifles’ personnel through various postures and breathing exercises.

The Yog Shivir at Tuilumjang village saw enthusiastic participation from 70 children who gathered to learn and practice various yoga postures and breathing exercises. The Assam Rifles’ personnel guided the participants through the sessions, highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining overall well-being and enhancing concentration and mental clarity.

These initiatives by the Assam Rifles aim to instill a disciplined lifestyle and promote lifelong physical and mental fitness. By integrating yoga into daily routines, the efforts seek to create a foundation for healthier, more focused, and resilient individuals, ultimately benefiting the community at large.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE AT S KWATLIAN CHURACHANDPUR 

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), distributed daily essential items to Internally Displaced People (IDPs) at the Relief Camp in S Kwatlian village, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 12 Jun 2024.

The event, held at the Relief Camp, was attended by 97 IDPs, including 30 children, 42 women, and 25 men. The Assam Rifles soldiers handed over relief materials to Internally Displaced People who rejoiced the much needed assistance. During the event, the soldiers interacted with residents, reassuring them of their commitment to the well-being of the people of Manipur. They promised to continue providing all possible assistance to those in need.

This distribution of essential items is part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to reach out to IDPs and provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the ethnic conflict.

ASSAM RIFLES OBSERVED WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles observed World Day Against Child Labour to raise awareness about the plight of child labourers worldwide, underscore the importance of a healthy childhood, and combat child labour practices. This event highlighted Assam Rifles’ steadfast commitment to child welfare and their dedication to creating a brighter future for the next generation.

The event, attended by 137 children and mothers from Aibol Joupi, Kovang, and Sehlon villages, focused on the critical need to safeguard childhood and promote education. Through a motivational lecture, the Assam Rifles educated the villagers on the significance of eradicating child labour and its detrimental effects on children’s physical and emotional development. They emphasized the role of education in breaking the cycle of exploitation, fostering cognitive development, and building a promising future for children.

The event served as a valuable platform for interaction, strengthening community bonds and reinforcing the collective effort towards child welfare.

This initiative not only reflected the Assam Rifles’ dedication to the well-being of children but also inspired attendees to pursue paths of empowerment and service to their country. Assam Rifles actively engages with local communities through various outreach programs aimed at promoting development, fostering trust, and building strong commitments for a brighter future for the nation’s children.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED FIRST PHASE OF PRE RECRUITMENT TRAINING CAPSULE FOR 15 LOCAL YOUTH OF UKHRUL AND KAMJONG 

Assam rifles in an effort to uplift the local community, conducted a 15 days Pre Recruitment Training capsule for the Local Youth of Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts from 18th May to 12th June 2024 at Shangshak village in Ukhrul district of Manipur.

Sixty motivated aspirants from Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts of Manipur had attended the screening test for Pre Recruitment Training. Out of these, 15 individuals were selected post screening to undergo training for first phase of Pre Recruitment Training capsule which was for a period of four weeks.

The Pre Recruitment Training capsule included Physical and Academic Training by qualified instructors as also training on mental resilience and confidence building exercises.

As a part of Recreational Activities, games and movies were organised. The attendees were assessed through a final test conducted on 12th June 2024 which included a written exam and a physical test.

The local populace, especially the youth thanked Assam Rifles for orgainsing such relevant and meaningful program their future. They promised to extend their wholehearted cooperation and support to the Security Forces and pledged to strive hard to get enrolled into the Security Forces.
