WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY CELEBRATED BY ARMY VETERANS IN NORTH EAST INDIA

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated each year on 14 June to commemorate the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, the father of transfusion medicine, in order to raise awareness for the need of safe blood transfusion and to highlight the contribution of voluntary, unpaid blood donors.

On this occasion, blood donation camps organised at 151 base hospital #Guwahati along with Zila Sainik Board for Veterans of the Indian Army. The occasion was graced by Major General PS Joshi, GOC, 51 Sub Area.

The event was a huge success owing to great motivation shown by the volunteers on this unique occasion truly displaying the spirit of Blood Doner.
