Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) seized three trucks carrying 15.7 Tons of Areca Nuts worth Rs 1.35 Crore at Saiboh village, Sangaikot Sub-Division on 21 June 2024.
Based on the input received from own sources with respect to the movement of contraband items from across Indo Myanmar Border, a column of Assam Rifles was launched in general area Saiboh village, Churachandpur District on 21 June 2024. Three unattended goods carrier were found and after thorough search of the area, it was found that they are carrying approx 15.7 Tons of Areca Nuts of Myanmar origin worth Rs 1.35 Crore.
The seized trucks and Areca Nuts were handed over to District Forest Office, Churachandpur District for further necessary action.

Two individuals including a teenage girl went missing from general area Charlong village in Chandel district, Manipur and were suspected to move towards Indo-Myanmar Border from 22 Jun 24.
Demonstrating synergy a joint team Assam Rifles and Manipur Police carried out extensive search with local populace and found them at Khongjol village Chandel. The team used all methods to track the missing individuals, wherein use of drones was also endeavoured.
