ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MASS TREE PLANTATION DRIVE IN CHANDEL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles, organized a mass tree plantation drive across Sehlon, Aibol Joupi, New Santal, Old Samtal, Kovang, and Kachinbung to promote environmental conservation and sustainable living. This initiative aimed to enhance green cover, mitigate climate change impacts, and foster a sense of responsibility towards nature among local communities.

The event saw the participation of 124 troops and 50 villagers, including 20 school children. A total of 875 native tree species were planted, chosen for their ecological benefits and suitability to the local climate. The drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and engaging the local community, especially the youth, in environmental conservation efforts. This initiative supports the government’s efforts to increase forest cover and combat climate change.

Assam Rifles plans to continue such initiatives and collaborate with local authorities and environmental organizations to ensure the maintenance and growth of the planted trees.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES “A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER” AT VENG VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles, organized “A Day with Company Commander” at Assam Rifles camp in Veng Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 29 June 2024.

The event hosted approximately 50 students and teachers from Lamka Higher Secondary School.

The event commenced with a warm welcome of the participants, followed by a comprehensive tour of the area. The company commander interacted with the students and delivered a motivational lecture, inspiring them to join the Armed Forces. The kids were also oriented to the daily routine and life at the Assam rifles camp, which included visits to the camp area, gymnasium, obstacle training area, basket ball court, lawn tennis court, motivational hall for movies, dining, and recreational hall. Students who emerged victorious in various activities were awarded prizes to boost their motivation for further excellence.

The day continued with engaging recreational and sports activities like lawn tennis, volleyball, basketball, and a short movie, fostering camaraderie among the students and the soldiers.
