GOC Red Shield Division Interacts with Village Chiefs at Leimakhong, Manipur

In a significant effort to strengthen community relations and promote local development, the Red Shield Division organized meeting with 22 village chiefs from the Leimakhong region of Manipur. GOC, Red Shield Division, interacted with the village chiefs, reaffirming Army’s commitment towards development in the region through various initiatives.

The session provided an overview of the ongoing Operation Sadbhavana projects, which continue to foster harmony and well-being in the villages. New initiatives focused on empowering women and youth were discussed, aimed at promoting skill development and economic opportunities. The village chiefs were briefed on several development projects undertaken, notable among these are establishing Bakery, Cosmetic and Bead Jewellery units on a self-sustaining model. Additionally, construction of a technology park and career counseling for children is being introduced for their future planning.

Additionally, efforts to secure a reliable and clean water supply, projects of dedicated bus service for school-going children and provision of eco-friendly E-Rickshaws were announced at the meet.

Plans for developing sports-related infrastructure were also discussed during the interaction, aimed at promoting physical fitness and nurturing local talents in sports. The village chiefs expressed deep gratitude for the Army’s steadfast support, acknowledging the transformative impact of these projects.

The GOC emphasized importance of working closely with local leadership to achieve sustainable progress, stating, “Our commitment is to collaborate with the village chiefs to foster improvements that benefit everyone.”

This interaction marks a significant milestone towards Army’s ongoing efforts to build resilient and thriving communities in Manipur.
