Residents of Heirok Village in Thoubal district of Manipur have been at the receiving end of many water borne diseases owing to the rainy season and lack of adequate sanitation measures. The disinfection of the surroundings of the village was the need of the hour in order to curb the outbreak of many seasonal endemic diseases.
Identifying the problem and recognising its urgent nature, Assam Rifles distributed 10 disinfectant spray machines to the villagers of Heirok. The spraying of hygiene chemicals with the help of these machines all around the village was an initial step towards a hygienic Heirok village. The village authorities expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Assam Rifles for this well thought out gesture.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED A MOTIVATIONAL LECTURE FOR INDIAN ARMED FORCES ASPIRANTS
Assam Rifles organised motivational lectures and group discussions for aspirants of SSB, NDA and Indian Armed Forces on 13 July 2024 at Churachandpur District, Manipur.
Assam Rifles has always been an integral part of the life of North East people and the force has been in the forefront in stimulating the fire of enthusiasm among local youth to join the esteemed Indian Armed Forces through its various activities and actions. This program was aimed to motivate young aspirants who dream of becoming Armed Forces officers through upcoming National Defence Academy exam scheduled in the month of September 2024 and also in other entry schemes of Armed Forces.
The youth from remote areas of the district, hailing from humble background and affected from the ongoing conflict in Manipur. The program included a lecture on the working environment of Armed Forces, its challenges, gratifying and adventurous lifestyle which it provides.
A question and answer session was also conducted to resolve the curious questions of aspirants followed by an interactive group discussion on their preparation for the upcoming NDA exams.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES YOUTH SKILL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP AT THOUBAL & KAKCHING DISTRICTS, MANIPUR TO COMMEMORATE WORLD YOUTH SKILL DAY
To commemorate World Youth Skills Day on 15 Jul 24, Assam Rifles conducted a week long Youth Skills Workshop at Phundrei and Serou villages of Thoubal and Kakching districts of Manipur from 07 July 24 to 13 July 24.
The initiative, aimed at nurturing creative acumen and self dependency amongst the locals of the districts by providing them a week long basic training on skills like Carpentry, Tailoring and Electrician trades.
The Workshop was conducted at two locations simultaneously at Phundrei and Serou. A total of 42 people attended the workshop enthusiastically. Lion’s share of the participants hailed from the isolated village of Heirok.
At the culmination of the workshop on 13 July, basic tools for all three trades: Carpentry, Tailoring and Electrician works, were distributed amongst participants for encouraging them to be self dependent and resourceful.
The local authorities of both villages lauded this thoughtful gesture and expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the undying social responsibility of the Assam Rifles towards the betterment of the society.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZED SECURITY MEET AT SANGAIKOT VILLAGE CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT
Assam Rifles conducted a security meet at Sangaikot Village, Churachandpur District on 13 July 2024.
Fifteen village authorities & eight Security Forces Column Commanders of Sangaikot Sub-Division attended the meet. The meeting was addressed by Sangaikot senior officials of Assam Rifles. The discussions focused on ongoing security situation with the view to maintain peace and tranquility in the area of responsibility. Deliberate discussions on varied aspects like current security situation, socio-political situation, and education of youth, farming and health awareness were carried out with the Village Chiefs pitching their views on overall security of the villages and maintaining peace.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks by village chiefs to the security forces for protecting their area and maintaining peace.
