ASSAM RIFLES EXTENDS AID TO REMOTE VILLAGES IN CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

The Assam Rifles, true to their tradition of service and dedication, rendered humanitarian assistance and distributed sports items to the villagers of Old Nabil and Lhangnom, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 15 July 2024.

Recognizing the importance of connectivity, Assam Rifles also played a vital role in repairing 200 mtrs of a dilapilated road, the sole link of Lhangom village to Churanchandpur, a crucial lifeline for the villagers. This effort enhances access to essential services like medical care, education, and trade, significantly improving the villagers’ quality of life.

The Assam Rifles’ initiatives have fostered a sense of security and hope, reinforcing their bond with the community and upholding their motto of ‘Sentinels of North East’ . Through these acts, Assam Rifles continue to uphold their legacy of service and solidarity in India’s most remote areas.

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES ‘WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY’ WITH SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES IN CHANDEL AND UKHRUL DISTRICTS

Assam Rifles Celebrates ‘World Youth Skills Day’ with Skill Development Initiatives in Chandel and Ukhrul Districts.

At Chandel District, Manipur on 15 July, Assam Rifles organized ‘World Youth Skills Day’ for the youth of Sajik Tampak, Sehlon, New Samtal, Joldam, and T Nampao villages. Simultaneously, a Skill Enhancement Capsule was conducted at Shangshak village in Ukhrul District, Manipur.

In Chandel District, the event featured a variety of activities, including lectures, a drawing competition, an interactive session, and a small exhibition showcasing various self-employment skills. A total of 219 students attended, expressing their appreciation for Assam Rifles’ efforts in promoting skill development and raising awareness on ‘World Youth Skills Day’.

Simultaneously, in Ukhrul District, the Skill Enhancement Capsule organised by Assam Rifles for 20 local youths from Shangshak village aimed at equipping young people with essential skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.

The Skill Enhancement Capsule in Ukhrul District commenced with a brief address to the participants, emphasizing the importance of enhancing their vocational skills. Following the address, personnel from the Assam Rifles’ computer and intelligence cells conducted classes on basic computing and photography skills. Practical sessions on these topics were also held, providing hands-on experience to the attendees. The event concluded with the distribution of refreshments.

The primary objective of these events was to educate and raise awareness about youth development and empowerment. This observance highlights the critical need to equip youth with the skills and competencies necessary for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods. During the programs, Assam Rifles emphasized vocational training, education, and apprenticeships, aiming to bridge the gap between education and employment.

The local youth expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation towards Assam Rifles for organizing such meaningful and relevant activities. They pledged their wholehearted support to the security forces, acknowledging the positive impact of these events on their skill development and future opportunities.
