Under the aegis of IGAR(S), Assam Rifles has taken significant strides in promoting health and hygiene in Manipur through a series of impactful initiatives.
On 16 July 2024, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with District Health Authorities of Tengnoupal, conducted a Health Checkup Cum Medical Camp at Kwatha village, Tengnoupal district. This initiative aimed to improve mutual trust and provide essential healthcare services to the local population. A total of 95 villagers, including women and children, were examined during the camp. Special focus was given to counseling civilians on health, hygiene, and the prevention of seasonal and contagious diseases.
Continuing their commitment to public health, Assam Rifles distributed essential water purification materials at the Student Welfare Community Hall in Thongju Pheijaleitong, Imphal East district, on 17 July 2024. This effort, conducted in partnership with Shri Bijoy Akoijam, Ex MLA (Thongju AC), aimed to address immediate water quality concerns following recent challenges related to water availability.
These initiatives underscore Assam Rifles’ dedication to the well-being of the people of Manipur, going beyond their traditional role as a security force to act as a vital support pillar in times of need. By providing healthcare services and essential resources, Assam Rifles continues to enhance the quality of life for communities across the region.
*ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED SECURITY MEETING IN MANIPUR*
Assam Rifles organised Security Meeting at Sorde Company Operating Base in Kamjong district of Manipur on 16 July 2024.
The Security Meeting is being conducted with an aim to address the concerns of the localites regarding the present security situation in their respective villages.
A total of 41 representatives from the 15 village councils under the Area of Responsibility of Sorde Company Operating Base had attended the Security Meeting.
The event provided a detailed overview of the current security situation in the region, highlighting key challenges and measures being undertaken to ensure safety and stability. This set the stage for an open and interactive session with the village heads, who were invited to share their perspectives and concerns regarding the prevailing socio-political conditions and their impact on local security.
During this interactive session, the village heads articulated their worries and challenges, offering valuable insights into the ground realities faced by their communities. Officials from Assam Rifles noted each concern and provided assurances and outlining the steps being taken to mitigate risks and enhance security.
The Security Meeting fostered a collaborative atmosphere, emphasizing the importance of communication and cooperation between the Assam Rifles and the local community.
The village authorities expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation towards Assam Rifles for orgainsing such a meaningful and relevant activity for them. They promised to extend their wholehearted support to the Security Forces in all their future endeavours.
