To strengthen relationships and create positive energy with the local populace, a friendly volleyball match was played between Chavangphai Village and Assam Rifles on 23 July 2024. Both teams displayed exceptional skills and teamwork, highlighting the universal language of sports.
In an exhilarating match that went down to the wire, Assam Rifles emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. After the match, tea and refreshments were organized for all players and villagers. Village elders appreciated Assam Rifles’ efforts to bring normalcy and joy during challenging times.
ASSAM RIFLES RENDERED HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE (IDP) AT BISHNUPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR
The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), rendered humanitarian assistance to Internally Displaced People of Mangolnganbi College Relief Camp on 23 July 2024.
Assam Rifles in continuation to its efforts to improve the condition of the local populace rendered humanitarian assistance to Relief Camp. This initiative aimed to address the basic needs to include daily essentials like sugar, milk, rice & salt to Internally Displaced People residing in the relief camp, promoting mutual trust, peace, and harmony in the region. A total of 162 villagers, across all age groups, benefitted from this effort.
ASSAM RIFLES ENGAGES YOUTH IN KAMJONG DISTRICT WITH “A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER” AT PHAIKOH VILLAGE, KAMJONG DISTRICT, UKHRUL
Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (S), conducted “A Day with Company Commander and Organized Lectures” at Phaikoh village, Kamjong district, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 45 students from Phaikoh and Humine Thana villages.
Children engaged in lively badminton and volleyball matches, emphasizing teamwork and camaraderie. They also visited the Sarv Dharam Sthal, embracing the unity of all religions under one roof.
Lectures on “Career Opportunities” broadened the students’ horizons, enlightening them about various career paths. The event concluded with prize distribution and a hearty lunch.
Village authorities praised Assam Rifles for this initiative, highlighting their commitment to youth development and community engagement. Assam Rifles continues to foster a bright future for local children through such activities.
ASSAM RIFLES HOSTS CHESS COMPETITIONS IN CHANDEL AND TENGNOUPAL DISTRICTS
Enthused by the profuse response to the matches organised on International Chess Day on 20-21 July 2024, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), went ahead and conducted chess competitions across Aibol Joupi, New Samtal, Sajik Tampak, and Shalluk villages in Chandel district, as well as Village Khoibu Centre in Tengnoupal district, Manipur. These events aimed to promote cognitive skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning among youth.
At Village Khoibu Centre, the chess competition was followed by a prize distribution ceremony and refreshments. Assam Rifles took this initiative to educate students on the multifaceted benefits of playing chess. Apart from being a source of entertainment, chess helps students academically by enhancing skills such as visualization, critical thinking, and problem-solving. A total of 30 students and 35 villagers attended the event, culminating in a fruitful interaction that contributed to creating a positive environment in the region.
In Chandel district, the chess competitions saw enthusiastic participation from 40 players, including girls and women, who showcased their skills and competitive spirit. The event also highlighted career opportunities in chess and the broader importance of sports in human development. Prizes and refreshments were distributed, with the effort appreciated by local youth and elders alike.
