Indian Army’s Eastern Command celebrates Independence Day at various military stations of the Kolkata including troops of SaltLake Garrison Batallion and Barrackpore with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.The Army Soldiers with their families and little learners came dressed up in vivid hues of the Independence Day theme, hoisted the Tricolour followed by an exhilarating dance performance and patriotic songs. A feeling of patriotism & pride transcended the festivities motivating one and all.

The Men in Uniform dressed in the colours of freedom, hoisted the Tricolour and led a spirited bike rally through iconic places like Howrah Bridge, Vidyasagar Setu, The 42 (tallest residential skyscraper in city) and Victoria Memorial while NCC Cadets enjoyed a ferry ride alongwith heritage walk at Princep Ghat. Connecting Independence with nostalgic historic locations ignited nationalism transcending through festivities.
