System for Pension Administration (Raksha) [SPARSH], a flagship project of Defence Accounts Department (DAD), is an integrated system for automation of sanction and disbursement of Defence pension. This web-based system processes pension claims and credits pension directly into the bank accounts of defence pensioners. Under SPARSH a pensioner portal is available for pensioners to view their pension related information, access services and register complaints for redressal of grievances, if any.
On August 30,2024, a mass SPARSH Outreach Programme was organised by the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) Guwahati for the Defence Pensioners at The Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Bongaigaon. Shri N Pathak, ACS, DC, Bongaigaon, was the Chief Guest for the event. Hony. Capt. H C Das, Zilla Sainik Officer, Bongaigaon was the Guest of Honour for the event. Shri Supriyo Kumar Bhattacharjee, Asst. Controller, Office of The CDA Guwahati co-ordinated the event.
Shri N Pathak, ACS, DC, Bongaigaon, spoke about the importance of SPARSH web based portal towards simplifying the process of pension sanction to Disbursement. He also explained the importance of pension papers/ PPOs and their timely updation for smooth disbursement of pension.
Supriyo Kumar Bhattacharjee, ACDA spoke about aim of this programme and process to be followed by the pensioners to resolve/[redress their problems. He also explained the importance of linking of AADHAAR with PAN and mobile number. for hassle free submission of online life certificate.
Around 400 pensioners and family members from the districts of Bongaigaon, Baksa, Chirang, Dhubri, Kokrajhar attended the above outreach program. Stalls with dedicated officials from Office of The CDA Guwahati were installed for Life Certificate Identification, Aadhaar updation, SPARSH information, Grievances Redressal, Banking facilities, etc.
On the warm reception of the event, Shri Ambarish Barman, CDA Guwahati, stated that “This is the maiden SPARSH outreach programme conducted by The CDA Guwahati. It is very heartening to note that the initiative of bringing Pension Related Services to the doorsteps of our Veterans and their Family members has been such a big success. We plan to carry out many more such endeavours in North-Eastern Region for enhancing service delivery in the coming months”.
Besides that, officials from Office of The CDA Guwahati explained about the imminent dangers of online identity theft like hacking, phishing from cyber security point of view. Also they emphasized the pensioners not to share their OTP with anyone, not to click on any link received from unknown person etc.
