In a spirited celebration of 75 years of dedicated service to the nation, the Territorial Army commemorated its Platinum Jubilee by organizing a Run For Fun that brought together its troops and locals. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the unity, fitness, and indomitable spirit of the Territorial Army and the communities it serves. Held on 31 August 2024 , the cross-country run covered 10 kms for men , 5 kms for women and 1.5KM for children , starting from the serene locale of 119 Territorial Army , Kenches Trace Shillong and weaving through scenic routes, engaging participants from diverse backgrounds. The event was a celebration of the deep-rooted connection between the Territorial Army and the local communities, reinforcing the bond of trust and cooperation that has been nurtured over decades.
The cross-country run saw enthusiastic participation from Territorial Army troops, their families, and locals, highlighting the Army’s commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the community. The event promoted physical fitness and well-being, with participants of all ages joining in to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle. As the Territorial Army marks its Platinum Jubilee, this event was a fitting tribute to the Army’s unwavering service to the nation, underscoring its role in safeguarding the country while staying connected to the people it serves.
