Indian Army is conducting a “Seminar on ‘Strengthening India’s Act East Policy’ in North Bengal”

A two-day seminar on “Strengthening India’s Act East Policy: Enhancing Infrastructure in Northeast Bengal Under the Emerging Security Paradigm” hosted by Trishakti Corps, under the aegis of Eastern Command, kicked off at Bengdubi Military Station.

Day 1 focused on the ongoing infrastructure development in the North Bengal Region through a whole of nation approach, technology integration and the building of a commerce ecosystem. Key discussions also highlighted the importance of neighbouring countries in the current security scenario while highlighting the need for engaging multinational forums like the BBIN, BIMSTEC & ASEAN towards enhancing trade and socio-economic development of the region.

Distinguished speakers, including Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita (Retd), Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia (Retd), Dr. Sabyasachi Saha, Shri Rakesh Kumar Meena, Shri Kamlesh Gosai, Shri Mohit Musaddi, Shri NK Mishra and Dr Srikanth Kondapalli shared valuable insights.

In his keynote address, Lieutenant General RP Kalita (Retd) stressed on proactive policy measures to strengthen development and regional community connections.
