ASSAM RIFLES RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN SEARCH OPERATIONS IN CHANDEL

Assam Rifles conducted multiple combing operations based on a reliable input and recovered weapons and war like stores in between Gunjil and Border Pillar 48 & 49, Chandel District, Manipur, on 16 September 2024 and recovered one Pistol, one Grenade, three Local made Mortars (Pompi), ammunition and war like stores. The recovered Items has been handed over to Manipur Police.

ASSAM RIFLES EXTENDS HUMANITARIAN AID, PROMOTES YOGA & WELL-BEING, AND ALSO ENGAGED WITH VETERANS IN MANIPUR

Continuing its efforts to support the local communities of Manipur during these challenging times, Assam Rifles recently undertook a series of impactful activities, ranging from humanitarian assistance and educational outreach to veteran welfare initiatives.

In Kwatha village, Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles provided crucial transportation and security support to 12 villagers, enabling them to access medical treatment in Pallel. This included the safe evacuation of a pregnant woman in her final stages of pregnancy, ensuring she received the necessary care in time. The initiative also facilitated travel for other villagers to meet their families and fulfill educational needs.

Meanwhile, in Sita village, Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles organized a yoga session on 19 September 2024 at the Government High School. The session aimed at promoting holistic well-being among students, teachers, and staff. Led by a certified yoga instructor, the interactive session introduced participants to yoga asanas, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods. A total of 60 individuals participated, with many expressing enthusiasm for incorporating yoga into their daily lives.

In another significant outreach, Assam Rifles conducted a quarterly “Welfare Association and Rehabilitation Board (WARB)” meeting at Modi, Chandel on 18 September 2024. The meeting was attended by 22 Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris of Assam Rifles. During the session, their grievances related to pensions and other emoluments were addressed, and they were felicitated for their dedicated service to the nation. The event concluded with a lunch, where the attendees expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the continued support provided by Assam Rifles.

Through these diverse initiatives, Assam Rifles continues to reaffirm its commitment to the people of Manipur, promoting well-being, providing essential services, and maintaining strong bonds with its veterans and their families.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS A DAY WITH COMPANY COMMANDER WITH BORDER VILLAGERS IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles organized “A Day with Company Commander” at Company Operating Base Nampisha, District Kamjong, Manipur.

A total of 45 enthusiastic villagers, including men, women, and children from Kongkhan, Lakhan Khunan, and Phaimol, eagerly participated in the lively event. Excitement was in the air as everyone was given an engaging overview of the Assam Rifles’ work. The students were treated to an interactive tour of the Company Operating Base, where they got a fascinating glimpse into the dynamic day-to-day life of the unit.

The highlight of the day was a series of fun-filled games and activities for the schoolchildren, including a spirited 25-meter race, a playful one-leg race, and a thrilling volleyball match with the local youth. Laughter, cheers, and camaraderie were in abundance as the community came together to enjoy the activities.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the participants, bringing broad smiles to the faces of the young winners. This was followed by a communal lunch, where Assam Rifles personnel and villagers shared moments of happiness. The event truly strengthened the bond between the Assam Rifles and local community.

Amidst the prevailing situation in the state, the villagers and students expressed heartfelt gratitude for organizing such uplifting and educational activities, which brought a welcome sense of joy and unity to the region.
