ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles in a meaningful display of unity and harmony, joined hands with local villagers to observe “International Day of Peace” on 21 September 2024. The event was conducted in Aibol Joupi, Phoilen, Kovang, New Samtal and Sehlon vill, Chandel District marked by various activities aimed at promoting peace, understanding, and cooperation among the local community and the security force.

The event themed “Cultivating a Culture of Peace”, embraced with enthusiasm as Assam Rifles personnel and villagers engaged in motivational lecture to the youth, friendly volleyball match and a drawing competition for school children. The event culminate with tree plantation drive followed by refreshments, symbolizing the growth of peace and hospitality. A strength of 314 locals actively participated in the event. These activities underscored the importance of collaboration and peaceful co-existence in building a stable and prosperous future for the region.

ASSAM RIFLES DEMONSTRATES HUMANITARIAN COMMITMENT WITH LIFE-SAVING ACTIONS IN MANIPUR

The troops of Assam Rifles once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes through two significant acts of selfless service in Manipur. On 20 September 2024, Assam Rifles personnel donated four units of blood to a critically ill patient at JNIMS Hospital, Imphal East District. Just two days later, on 22 September 2024, the brave soldiers provided timely medical assistance to a snakebite victim in Sorde village, Ukhrul District.

In the first instance, the patient’s family at JNIMS Hospital was in dire need of blood, and Assam Rifles troops stepped in promptly, offering the precious gift of life. This act of kindness not only brought much-needed relief to the family but also reaffirmed the Assam Rifles’ dedication to service beyond their military duties. The family expressed their profound gratitude for the invaluable support provided during this difficult time.

On 22 September 2024, another emergency arose when Mrs. Reimei, a resident of Sorde village, was bitten by an unidentified snake while returning home from the market. Villagers quickly brought her to the Assam Rifles Company Operating Base at Sorde, where she received immediate medical attention. Upon examination, it was determined that the snake was non-venomous, and basic first aid was administered. Mrs. Reimei is now recovering well at home. The local residents, along with village authorities and the victim’s family, extended their heartfelt thanks to Assam Rifles for their swift response and life-saving efforts.

The commitment of Assam Rifles remains undeterred wherein their actions continue to make a profound impact on the communities they serve.
