Jaishankar met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya on October 4, 2024, to discuss advancing bilateral ties.

They focused on enhancing cooperation in areas such as digital public infrastructure, training, and capacity building.

Jaishankar expressed India’s commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and reaffirmed the importance of the longstanding friendship between the two nations.

On a post on X  Jaishankar said, ” Pleased to meet PM Dr Harini Amarasuriya today. Conveyed good wishes for her new responsibility. Discussed Digital Public Infrastructure, training and capacity building. Agreed to work together to advance our partnership.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening relations following Sri Lanka’s recent presidential elections.

Earlier on day Jaishankar landed in Colombo and also met  Srilankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo and  Conveyed warm greetings of President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi.
