India’s Naval Chief delivered a special address at New Delhi

Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, CNS delivered the Special Address in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at the ‘Commemorative Session’ of the IPRD2024 on 04 October 2024 at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.

CNS highlighted India’s deep connection with the seas as a source of growth, prosperity, and cultural exchange. He reiterated the nation’s commitment to a free, open, & inclusive Indo Pacific, rooted in its vision of SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region). Elaborating on the central theme of IPRD-2024 “Resource-Geopolitics and Security in the Indo Pacific”, CNS highlighted the significance of the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative IPOI in ensuring a holistic & collaborative approach in addressing contemporary challenges in the maritime domain. CNS also emphasised Indian Navy’s efforts to leverage its multiple partnerships with like-minded navies, & stressed the importance of crafting regional maritime policies that are equitable, just, based upon consensus & derived from internationally accepted rules. Finally, CNS highlighted that as India prepares to chair the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium IONS from 2025-27, the Navy aims to strengthen collective maritime security & embrace a shared future of peace & sustainable growth.
