Assam Rifles organized a Security Meeting at Shakpao in Ukhrul District, Manipur, on 16 October 2024.
The meeting aimed to assess local perceptions of the security situation and address residents’ concerns about village safety was attended by 16 representatives from 10 village councils. Officials from Assam Rifles briefed village authorities on the current security situation. This was followed by an interactive session where village heads discussed socio-political and security concerns. Security forces reassured residents of their safety, emphasizing their vigilant presence.
The village authorities expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organizing such a meaningful activity and pledged their support for future endeavours.
ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES WORLD STUDENTS DAY WITH ENGAGING EVENTS IN IMPHAL WEST, CHANDEL AND TENGNOUPAL DISTRICTS
In a spirited celebration of World Students Day, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (South), organized a series of educational and cultural events across Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts on 15 October 2024, aiming to promote education and inspire the local youth to envision a brighter future.
In Chandel District, the celebrations were held in the villages of Aibol Joupi, New Samtal, Wayang, Tuitong, and Sehlon. These events, highly appreciated by the local communities, included a motivational lecture that provided students with guidance on career opportunities and personal growth. A lively drawing and painting competition showcased the creativity of young minds, while students eagerly explored books from a mobile library, which was a highlight of the day. Adding to the festive atmosphere, students performed cultural dances, and a volleyball tournament brought out their sportsmanship and enthusiasm. With 278 participants, the events reflected strong community engagement and support.
In Imphal West, Assam Rifles celebrated World Students Day at the Vocational Guide School, Sangaithel, with over 400 students participating. Activities included a motivational movie screening, a lecture on Armed Forces career opportunities, and distribution of sports equipment to promote fitness. A session on drug abuse prevention was also held, raising awareness about its dangers. The event concluded with an informal tea session, fostering camaraderie between students and Assam Rifles personnel, reflecting their commitment to youth empowerment and social welfare.
Simultaneously, in Tengnoupal District, Assam Rifles honored the legacy of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President and DRDO Scientist, with a special lecture on the “Importance of Education in Life” at Dr. Colvin Academy School in Moreh. A total of 80 students and villagers, including those from nearby Haolenphai Village, attended the event, which emphasized the transformative power of education in national development. The session inspired the attendees to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society. The celebration concluded with interactive games and refreshments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity among the participants.
Through these initiatives, Assam Rifles continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing youth development and strengthening ties with the local communities, especially in remote areas, by encouraging education and personal growth.
