ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles organized an essay writing competition at St. Mary School in Chandel District, Manipur, on 29 October 2024. The event, organised as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, invited students to reflect on the theme, “Role of Integrity in Public Service.”

The competition aimed to nurture students personal development, encouraging them to express their views on integrity and the importance of ethical values in public service. The participants shared heartfelt insights, guided by their teachers who provided further inspiration.

The event witnessed 20 enthusiastic students who contributed thoughtful and creative essays, reflecting awareness. Students and teachers alike appreciated Assam Rifles ongoing efforts to promote peace and support the development of future generations in the region.

The interaction also included discussions with students about the importance of honesty and trustworthiness in public service and explored career opportunities for young aspirants interested in civil service roles. The efforts of Assam Rifles in organizing this competition and its commitment to public welfare were highly valued by the community.

ASSAM RIFLES PROMOTES YOUTH SPORTSMANSHIP THROUGH INTER VILLAGE FOOTBALL EVENT

Aimed at identifying local talent and promoting sportsmanship among youth, Assam Rifles organized an Inter Village Football Tournament at Chongjang Village on October 30, 2024, four teams from Chongjang, Gangpijang, T Bongmol, and Chalson Tengnoupal participated. The final match concluded with Chongjang defeating Gangpijang 2-0. The event attracted around 150 villagers, including local chiefs, fostering community spirit. Following the matches, prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up, with refreshments provided. Participants expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for their support in nurturing local youth through sports initiatives.

ASSAM RIFLES ENGAGES LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN JOYFUL NINGOL CHAKOUBA FESTIVITIES

Assam Rifles celebrated the Ningol Chakouba festival at Sangaithel in Imphal West District, Manipur, on October 31, 2024. The event witnessed participation of around 70 women from nearby villages, honouring the tradition of married women returning to their parental homes.

In a gesture of solidarity and respect, Assam Rifles troops distributed gifts to the women, reinforcing their commitment to fostering harmony and connection with the local community. This celebration highlights the importance of cultural events and strengthens the bond between the armed forces and civilians, promoting unity and goodwill in the region.
