Dibrugarh University, Advait IAS Host “Alusona Sokro” Seminar for APSC Aspirants

Dibrugarh University, in partnership with Advait IAS, organized the “Alusona Sokro” seminar on November 7, 2024, to guide students preparing for the APSC Combined Competitive Examination.

Rank holders shared their experiences and strategies, emphasizing perseverance, critical thinking, and a systematic approach to exam preparation. The event aimed to equip students with valuable insights for success in civil services.

Dibrugarh, Assam – November 7, 2024 – Dibrugarh University, in partnership with Advait IAS, organized “Alusona Sokro,” a focused seminar to support students preparing for the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Combined Competitive Examination. Held at Ranghar, Dibrugarh University, the event brought together accomplished rank holders to share their strategies, insights, and personal experiences, providing aspiring civil servants with essential guidance on mastering the rigorous exam process.

The seminar featured a panel of accomplished speakers, all successful rank holders in civil service exams. Among them were Biswajit Sarma of the Assam Engineering Service; Debabrata Sarma, Rank 13 in APSC CCE 2022, AUAS; Manasjyoti Das, former ACS officer and UPSC CSE 2022 qualifier; Sukanya Mukherjee, who achieved Rank 1 in APSC CCE 2022, AUAS; and Arnab Sarma, Rank 109 in APSC CCE 2022, AAO. Each speaker shared their experiences, offering students strategic insights on perseverance, preparation, and time management in competitive exams.

Addressing the students, senior faculty of Advait IAS, Jyotiprasad Das remarked, “Patience and perseverance are key. Time is precious, and these examinations contribute greatly to one’s behavioral and personal development.”

“Observe your surroundings, identify and analyze the problems. Develop the urge to solve them, cultivate a thoughtful approach, and it will reflect in your answer writing.”

In her speech, Sukanya Mukherjee stated, “Utilize media as a valuable resource by watching documentaries, engaging in online quizzes, and following YouTube lectures, such as those from Harvard. To save time and work efficiently, explore study topper series for insightful strategies.” She added, “Even after clearing the exam, it is important to stay grounded, carry out your responsibilities with sincerity, and remain focused on your ultimate purpose.”

Arnab Sarma advised, “Begin with a 90-day mock series for the Prelims, read newspapers, and focus on editorials and current affairs. Develop critical thinking, approach the exam systematically, and track progress. In the interview, be honest and stay true to yourself.”

Bornali Dutta shared her experience as a Public Relations Officer, stating, “Be patient, keep learning, and excel in the language you’re most comfortable with. Language should never be an obstacle in your journey to becoming a professional. If you’re proficient in Assamese, you can excel in your role. As a PRO, you’ll enjoy working closely with IAS officers and other officials, making the job both rewarding and impactful.”
