After Jamshedpur FC’s tough 5-1 loss to Chennaiyin FC, Jharkhand player Samir Murmu expressed gratitude for making his debut and stressed that the team will comeback in upcoming matches.
Despite the disappointing result at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Murmu got the opportunity to debut for his home state club and he thanked the coach and the club for giving him the opportunity.
“We had a bad day against Chennaiyin FC, and we know our fans were disappointed. But I am incredibly thankful to the coach and the club for giving me this debut. I am committed to working harder so we can bounce back and give fans the performances they deserve,” he said.
Murmu also acknowledged the overwhelming fan support, which, he said, lifted his spirits during a challenging match. “I’m very thankful to the fans for coming out and chanting our names. Their presence increased my confidence on the pitch. We’ll keep working to satisfy them, and I hope we can make them proud next time.”
Even as Jamshedpur FC trailed 5-0, the team continued pressing forward until the final whistle. “Our effort to score even when we were down shows our character and what this team is capable of. We’ll build on it , learn from our mistakes, and work towards securing a win in the next match.”
With an 18-day international break before their next game against Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Murmu is optimistic about Jamshedpur FC’s ability to regroup and come back stronger. “We have enough time to prepare, and we’re going to use it to regroup and ensure we deliver a better performance,” he said.
Jamshedpur FC will aim to regain their form as they play Mohun Bagan Super Giant away on November 23.
