ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEGA MEDICAL CAMPS IN KAMJONG DISTRICT AS PART OF OPERATION SADBHAVANA

Assam Rifles organised a series of medical camps across seven remote villages in Manipur’s Kamjong district from 09 November to 13 November 2024. This initiative, part of Operation Sadbhavana, aimed to provide essential medical care to the villages of Alang, Chamu, Mapum, Changa, Pushing, Punamram, and K Asang Khullen.

These camps delivered much-needed relief to communities with limited access to healthcare services. Medicines were also distributed at no cost to patients.

The medical camps were staffed by personnel from Assam Rifles based in Shangshak and Somsai, with support from civil medical authorities in Ukhrul district. A diverse team of nine specialized doctors—including an ENT specialist, ophthalmologist, orthopedist, general physician, anesthesiologist, gynecologist, obstetrician, and dentist—provided a broad spectrum of healthcare services.

The initiative received an overwhelming response from the villagers. By the end of the fourth day of the medical camp, over 3,000 residents from Kamjong, Ukhrul, and neighboring areas benefited from comprehensive medical services that addressed various health concerns and improved their quality of life.

Villagers expressed profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for renewing hope and care in these remote communities. This outreach reinforces Assam Rifles’ unwavering dedication to the welfare and development of Manipur’s remote populations while fostering stronger bonds and trust with the people they serve.
