The Indian Navy is honoured to be a prominent participant in the Bali Yatra 2024, inaugurated at Cuttack, (Odisha) on November 15, 2024. Navy’s presence at Bali Yatra reflects its commitment to preserving the country’s historic heritage while emphasising the nation’s modern maritime prowess and self-reliance.
The Indian Navy’s pavilion comprises 11 distinct and intricately designed stalls, each offering a unique insight into its diverse capabilities. These thematic stalls span a broad spectrum of three-dimensional operations, showcasing Navy’s technical advancement across various fields. Exhibits from the Naval Repair Yards highlighting the self-sustenance in technical upkeep, dedicated stalls displaying Weapons and Missiles, Aviation, Indigenisation, Marine Commandos and Diving, Naval Communication, India’s shipbuilding strength and Navy’s spirit of adventure are open for visitors. These stalls are set up by various units, located at Visakhapatnam under Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy.
As part of Indian Navy pavilion, team of Naval Officer -in- Charge (Odisha) has also set up two stalls. The first stall showcases the longstanding maritime connection between the Indian Navy and the state of Odisha, emphasising shared history, achievements, and cultural links. Another stall serves as a recruitment and publicity platform, designed to inspire Odisha’s youth to join the Navy and be part of its esteemed legacy.
On 16 Nov, the Indian Navy’s band from INS Chilka also performed at Baliyatra and added a festive spirit to the famous maritime trade fair. It is pertinent to mention that this year the Operational Demonstration by the Indian Navy is also being conducted at Blue Flag Beach Puri on 04 December 2024.
