The Red Shield Division of Spear Corps organized a special two-day yoga event on November 22nd and 23rd, 2024, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the 25th Hornbill Festival at Zakhama. This initiative exemplifies the Army’s commitment to promoting health, harmony, and heritage among troops and the local community.
The yoga sessions saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 250 station troops along with 35 families, including children and civilians from nearby villages. Led by a dedicated team of yoga instructors, including Mrs. Shivani Khanchi and Mr. Sachin Kotiyal from the Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) institution in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, the sessions emphasized the physical and mental benefits of yoga in modern life.
This unique initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of fitness while celebrating the vibrant Naga culture that the Hornbill Festival embodies. Participants embraced the holistic essence of yoga amidst the serene surroundings of the station, highlighting a spirit of community and well-being.
